about

Reflective track inspired by a speech from Les Brown. Got me thinking about what I've achieved so far, what I wanted to have achieved by now, why I didn't and how much I hope to achieve in the future.

lyrics

I thought that I was destined for greatness
Like I was the one fuck the rest of the matrix
So what did I do rested and waited
stayed idol the rest of them made it
And now I'm still in the same place
Wishing I had put on my game face
Wishing I was spitting on main stage
Instead of room two where the drum and bass plays
People tell me I should be Mainstream
But now that notion is a day dream
Trying to reach that ocean from the same stream
But the tide is moving against me
Could have applied myself and made them see
Instead I hide myself and make them seek
They ask why they know they know I can mc
And they're right it's the promotion that gets me
I find it hard to blow my own trumpet
But I have to like it or lump it
If the music's good then they'll bump it
I hope that they feel this beat like a drum kit
And the vocals dope like a blunt hit
I'm ready to blow like I'm unfit
Just gotta push it out to the public
But it won't get done on some dumb shit
Coz I am my own worst enemy
Never listen to advice that they're telling me
Hard ears since I was in secondary
Maybe before but I've got a bad memory
You might feel I'm giving off a bad energy
Coz on this track I spared all the pleasantries
Tell it how it is not how it's meant to be
suppose it's a sort of personal therapy

I dream lucidly but life is like a looping beat
Loosing sleep losing me
it ain't the same as it used to be
I dream stupidly coz come on any fool can see
Dreams don't come true oh stupid me
it ain't the same as it used to be

But I wish that it was though
They say fate is a plan only God knows
Or is it in the hands of the cosmos
Destiny's a disease we try to prognose
There's gotta be other forces at work here
We searched for years but never got close
the fact it could be us was our worst fear
dem kinda tings can't run like a blocked nose
No we don't wanna be accountable
for the things do and what we are amounting to
when's it's up to you, you feel you have mountain to move
and the weight of the world is weighing down on you
But the fact is it really is down to you
It's the truth man it ain't just a rumour
Your scape goat is forces surrounding you
I just wish I'd of realised it sooner

I wish we
could replay
Coz I never would have done it that way
I made mistakes
So much I'd change
If I could live this life again
X2

Life again
life again
I live this life again
Life again
(If I could live this life again)
X2

I ain't just airing my laundry
The message is there in the story
Nothing is certain you gotta put work in
Practice prepares you for glory
So Where did it all go wrong
Check the sample at the start of the song
The greatness was there all along
I knew my calling just answered it wrong
But it's never too late for it to turn round
And the fire in me never burnt out
In fact it's eternal a burning inferno
Don't believe me you will learn now
Coz I'm taking my turn now
Suppose it's better late than never ey
Gonna get there I ain't concerned how
With no regrets so you won't hear me ever say

I wish we
could replay
Coz I never would have done it that way
I made mistakes
So much I'd change
If I could live this life again
X2

Life again
life again
I live this life again
Life again
(If I could live this life again)
X2
